President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected the newly opened Metro Pacific Fresh Farms, the largest vegetable greenhouse complex in the Philippines, located in San Ildefonso.
The 3.5-hectare facility, a partnership between Metro Pacific Agro Ventures and Israel’s LR Group, uses advanced agricultural technology to increase food production.
The initial six greenhouses can yield up to five times more vegetables than traditional farms, producing 500 metric tons annually, with plans to reach 1,600 metric tons when fully operational.
The project eliminates middlemen by directly supplying high-quality produce to hotels, restaurants, and groceries.
Designed to withstand strong typhoons and reduce water use by 90%, the greenhouse serves as a model for modern, sustainable farming, with plans to expand across the country.
