President Marcos praised the growing ties between the Philippines and France, emphasizing their shared values and commitment to international law during a meeting with French Minister Laurent Saint-Martin.
He thanked France for its continued support for Filipinos and welcomed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
Saint-Martin, in turn, conveyed French President Emmanuel Macron’s warm greetings and acknowledged the hospitality extended by Philippine officials.
The two countries have enjoyed 78 years of diplomatic relations, with over 31,000 Filipinos living in France and active agreements in culture, defense, and trade.
Separately, Marcos and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon discussed regional trade cooperation, while efforts are underway to negotiate with the U.S. over tariffs on Philippine exports.
