The implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 11981, known as the Tatak Pinoy Law, were signed on Wednesday, aiming to enhance Philippine industrialization and increase competitiveness in global markets.
Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual emphasized the importance of Tatak Pinoy in growing Filipino products and services, addressing challenges, and integrating into the global value chain.
The Department of Trade and Industry has allocated P350 million for the law’s implementation this year, with further funding provided through the General Appropriations Act in subsequent years.
As part of the law, the Trade Department plans to establish the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research to enhance industry productivity and competitiveness, acknowledging AI as crucial for future growth and global integration.
