Taguig City has opened the Yakap Center for Children with Disabilities in Brgy. Calzada-Tipas provides specialized therapy and education for children with disabilities.
The four-story facility offers various therapies, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as consultations with rehabilitation doctors and pediatricians.
It also features educational programs such as Early Intervention, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, and Braille Literacy, aimed at helping children become more independent.
The center is equipped with an E-Library, arts and crafts rooms, a hydrotherapy area, and therapy rooms to support the children’s development.
Mayor Lani Cayetano highlighted the center as a significant step in easing the challenges faced by families with children with special needs, emphasizing the importance of accessible, free services.
