The US and the Philippines signed agreements to advance the Philippines’ nuclear policy and workforce development during the Indo-Pacific Business Forum in Manila.
The Department of Energy (DOE) and the United States Agency for International Aid (USAID) signed an MOU to create a comprehensive nuclear energy policy aligned with the Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement.
Another MOU with the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) aims to provide scholarships and training for workers in the nuclear and renewable energy fields.
US Department of State Assistant Secretary Daniel Kritenbrink announced the establishment of the US Civil Nuclear/SMR Industry Working Group in Manila to facilitate technology exchange and best practices.
Additionally, the first Nuclear Suppliers Forum will be held in Manila this November to further support the country’s transition to clean energy.
