The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) held a stakeholders’ meeting to address new carnapping tactics and strengthen collaboration with industry players.
The event, led by HPG Director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta included 58 bank managers and HPG officials from various units across the country.
Discussions focused on emerging criminal strategies and ways to enhance vehicle crime prevention, with a particular emphasis on cooperation between law enforcement and financial institutions.
Matta highlighted the importance of identifying vulnerabilities and improving security measures to prevent the legalization of stolen vehicles.
From Feb. 3 to 9, the HPG successfully recovered 15 stolen vehicles and arrested 16 individuals, including 11 motor vehicles and four motorcycles.
