Slovenia has officially opened its first embassy in Southeast Asia, located in Makati City, Philippines, marking a milestone in diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon led the inauguration on March 11, emphasizing the importance of strong partnerships and multilateralism.
The embassy, which began initial operations in May 2024, aims to strengthen bilateral relations and facilitate business opportunities for Slovenian companies in the region.
During her visit, Fajon met with Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo to discuss regional and global issues, including the South China Sea and Ukraine.
The embassy’s renovation was co-financed by European funds, reinforcing Slovenia’s commitment to its diplomatic presence in Asia.
