Senate President Vicente Sotto III dismissed claims that he and Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson are cutting district budgets, calling them “black propaganda.”
During plenary debates on the 2026 budget, Sotto said he received reports that some House members were anxious about alleged cuts.
He emphasized that no district budgets have been reduced and said the Senate finance chair can confirm this.
Sotto advised concerned lawmakers to raise their questions with the House appropriations committee instead.
He did not identify the specific representatives who reportedly made the claims.
