Facing an impeachment trial, Vice President Sara Duterte expressed that her only message to the people is “God Save the Philippines.”
She stated she had no intention of resigning from her post despite the impeachment complaint filed against her by 215 members of the House of Representatives.
Duterte emphasized that she does not feel betrayed by the lawmakers who signed the complaint, including those she considers political allies, and noted that she is focused on how public opinion shifts in the coming years.
She also discouraged supporters from protesting her impeachment, encouraging them to express their views on social media instead.
Duterte reiterated that the assassination threat accusations in her controversial speech were taken out of context, and dismissed claims of her involvement in the impeachment process.
