ROQUE ALLEGEDLY SUPPORTED RAIDED POGO, SAYS PAGCOR

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco revealed in a Senate inquiry that former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque lobbied on behalf of a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) recently raided in Porac, Pampanga.

Tengco stated that Roque, accompanied by Cassandra Li Ong of Lucky South 99, discussed the firm’s unpaid taxes amounting to USD500,000.

Despite Roque’s involvement, Tengco clarified that Roque did not pressure PAGCOR regarding Lucky South 99’s issues, including its license renewal.

Roque, in response, denied acting as legal counsel for any illegal POGO and clarified his role as representing Whirlwind Corporation, a service provider to Lucky South 99.
