ROBIN, ALLIES SIGNAL POSSIBLE ABSENCE FROM TRIAL

Sen. Robinhood Padilla said minority senators may soon discuss a collective decision to stop attending the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

He said some senators are beginning to view the proceedings as “bending the Constitution.”

Padilla confirmed the possibility of a trial boycott, noting that several surprising developments have occurred.

His remarks came as attendance among minority senators has declined, with some skipping hearings, arriving late, or leaving early.

Padilla added that senators are allowed to monitor the proceedings from their offices and that he continues to watch the trial on television despite his occasional absence from the Senate floor.
