Rep. Terry Ridon said National Bureau of Investigation Director Melvin Matibag should present the full findings of the agency’s investigation into Vice President Sara Duterte’s alleged threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. when he testifies at the impeachment trial.
Matibag is expected to discuss the NBI’s comprehensive probe, including whether authorities found continuing threats against the President and his family.
The investigation stemmed from Duterte’s November 2024 remarks, which led the NBI to recommend filing charges of grave threats and inciting to sedition.
Ridon said it would be up to the senator-judges to address issues outside the impeachment complaint during the proceedings.
Matibag is expected to be the prosecution’s final witness on the impeachment article involving the alleged threats.
