PNP ORDERS WITHDRAWAL OF ESCORTS FOR ELECTION ASPIRANTS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will recall security escorts for politicians running in the 2025 midterm elections, according to PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo.

This decision aims to protect police officers from involvement in partisan politics, with personnel related to candidates being reassigned to different duties.

Officers are required to disclose any relatives who are running for office to ensure neutrality within the PNP during the election period.

PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has instructed officers to avoid influencing election outcomes in their jurisdictions.

In Quezon City, local police are enhancing security measures in anticipation of the elections, though no significant political rivalries have been detected as potential hotspots.
