Phivolcs confirmed there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines following a 6.7-magnitude earthquake in the Taiwan region on Dec. 27.
The quake occurred at 11:06 p.m. at a depth of 35 kilometers.
The agency’s evaluation showed no destructive tsunami risk based on available data.
Phivolcs released the tsunami information bulletin at 11:31 p.m., noting it was for information purposes only.
No further bulletins will be issued unless new information arises.
