SteelAsia Manufacturing Corp The Philippines’ largest steelmaker, has ventured into overseas markets, with six shipments to Canada totaling PHP1.5 billion since 2023, according to senior vice president Rafael Hidalgo.
The company exported over 41,148 tons of high-strength steel for infrastructure projects, particularly for Canada’s subway system.
This expansion was facilitated by SteelAsia’s partnership with Acciona for the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway project, establishing a connection to Acciona’s projects in Canada’s South Coast region.
SteelAsia operates six production lines across the Philippines, including its latest facility in Compostela, Cebu, boasting a production capacity of 1 million tons annually and representing its largest and most modern steelmaking facility in the region.
