President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the VITRO Sta. Rosa Data Center, the first AI-driven hyperscale data center in the Philippines.
The 50-megawatt facility, built by PLDT, is connected to subsea cable networks linking Asia, the U.S., and Europe, positioning the country to attract global tech giants like Google, Amazon, and Meta.
Marcos emphasized that the launch reflects the Philippines’ readiness for digital progress and its commitment to regional development by expanding digital infrastructure beyond Metro Manila.
He invited global tech innovators to tap into the country’s digital resources and stressed the importance of preparing the Filipino workforce for a digital future.
The new center, which supports cloud and AI services, marks a significant step in transforming the Philippines into a competitive player in the global digital economy.
