The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino condemned the naming of Senators Ronald dela Rosa and Bong Go as co-perpetrators in alleged extrajudicial killings during former president Rodrigo Duterte’s anti-drug campaign, calling it a “derogation” of Philippine sovereignty.
Deputy spokesman Ferdinand Topacio criticized the ICC for pursuing charges despite what he described as an “evident lack of jurisdiction.”
Other co-accused include former justice secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, PNP generals, and former agency chiefs involved in the war on drugs.
The PDP also accused the Marcos administration of enabling the ICC’s actions to distract from alleged corruption scandals.
While Malacañang has yet to comment, the party vowed to defend Philippine dignity and sovereignty using all legal means available.
