Marcos astounded the audience with his three-dimensional holographic projection. He was the sole speaker to use the said technology at the Prestigious Singapore Fintech Festival.
This cutting-edge technology, also being explored by tech giants like Google and Microsoft Corp., offers a captivating and novel way to communicate across vast distances.
Amidst a mesmerizing purplish vortex animation, the holographic Marcos shared his vision for the future of the Southeast Asian nation. He emphasized the urgent need to prioritize digitalizing cash transactions, propelling the country into the forefront of the fintech revolution.
“We will keep our fintech ecosystem open to collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders, both domestically and internationally,” said the president who’s attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in San Francisco.
The Philippine central bank is striving to achieve a half digitalization rate for retail payment transactions this year. This goal aligns with the growing trend towards cashless societies, further accelerated by the pandemic. Last year, digital payments accounted for 42.1% of all retail transactions in the Philippines.
