Malacañang urged media organizations to exercise caution and responsibility when reporting incidents involving minors to avoid encouraging copycat acts.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said reports should protect the dignity, privacy, and safety of minors and their families while avoiding unverified information.
The Department of Education will conduct a nationwide school safety drill on Aug. 25, focusing on threat prevention, quick reporting, and police response.
Castro said the government is also strengthening school security in coordination with local governments and police.
She added that funding for enhanced school security will be included in schools’ regular operating budgets.
