PALACE DOWNPLAYS IMEE MARCOS’ EXIT FROM BONGBONG’S SLATE

Malacañang dismissed speculations of a rift between President Marcos and his sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, despite her public criticism and departure from his senatorial slate.

Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said the President has not shown any antagonism toward his sister and has remained unbothered by her remarks.

She noted that even when Imee joined a rally where former president Rodrigo Duterte criticized Marcos, the President did not react negatively.

Castro added that Imee’s decision to leave the administration-backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas was logical, as she does not align with its causes.

The Palace maintained that only the President himself can confirm if there are any tensions between them.
