The Office of the President of the Philippines has allocated P344 million for scholarships and facility projects in all 1,721 barangays in Iloilo province.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. and Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial Federation President Amalia Victoria Debuque met to prepare for the distribution of funds under the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang” program.
Each barangay will receive P200,000, with half allotted for five college scholars and the other half for community projects such as street lights and water pumps.
The financial assistance is part of the Local Government Support Fund prioritized by Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Distribution of the funds is scheduled on July 19 during the Iloilo Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay Day.
