The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has allocated ₱3 billion in standby funds to support disaster-affected local government units (LGUs) and communities across the country.
According to DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, the funds will be used to respond promptly to LGU requests, with more than three million family food packs already prepositioned nationwide.
Dumlao emphasized that the agency assists all affected families, including those outside evacuation centers, through close coordination with LGUs.
As part of its disaster preparedness strategy, the DSWD is implementing the “Buong Bansa Handa” program, which enhances logistics and response capabilities.
The program operates through a dual supply chain system—one managed by the government and another through private sector partnerships—to ensure faster, more efficient aid delivery.
