Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has urged Apollo Quiboloy’s supporters to respect the justice system, dismissing claims that the arrest order against the KOJC founder is politically motivated.
This follows a large police raid on Quiboloy’s Davao City compound, where authorities are searching for him on charges of sexual abuse and human trafficking.
Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and other officials, including Senate President Francis Escudero and Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, have called on Quiboloy to surrender and face the charges.
Amid protests and accusations of police misconduct, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla emphasized the need for strong legal cases against human trafficking perpetrators and encouraged abuse victims to come forward.
The situation remains tense, with various political figures expressing concerns over the handling of the case and the impact on public trust.
