The Department of Health (DOH) has opened a new trauma and orthopedic center at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga, equipped with a state-of-the-art integrated operating room for complex procedures.
The facility is now ready to accept patients needing urgent trauma, orthopedic, and burn care.
Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa highlighted the importance of regional specialty centers in ensuring timely treatment for serious injuries without requiring patients to travel far.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced plans to establish more specialty and Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (Bucas) centers to serve the country’s poorest citizens.
As of May 2025, 52 Bucas centers are operational in 33 provinces, offering free laboratory and treatment services for non-life-threatening conditions.
