New DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling pledged to enhance the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program by expanding it to include horizontal housing like townhouses and single-detached units.
This shift departs from the vertical housing focus of his predecessor, Jose Rizalino Acuzar, who was reassigned after the program missed its yearly targets.
Aliling also vowed to digitalize DHSUD operations, implement a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, and open one-stop shops nationwide for housing services.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said Acuzar’s reassignment followed poor public feedback after the 2025 midterm elections, though no corruption allegations were involved.
Aliling expressed optimism about DHSUD’s potential in the administration’s second half, calling for private sector support and monthly dialogue with developers.
