The Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported that 962,615 individuals have registered to vote in the upcoming 2026 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Calabarzon leads in the number of registrants with 203,428, followed by the National Capital Region with 114,820 and Central Luzon with 114,628, while the Cordilleras recorded the lowest with 12,147.
Of the total applicants, 512,378 are women, reflecting strong female participation.
Comelec aims to attract about 1.4 million new voters by the end of the registration period in May.
Chairman George Garcia expressed confidence that the target could be exceeded given the current registration pace.
