NCRPO DIRECTS PATROLLERS TO REPORT OPEN MANHOLES AND BROKEN STREETLIGHTS

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has ordered patrol officers to report hazards such as open manholes, broken streetlights, uneven roads, and uncollected garbage during their rounds.

Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Joseph Arguelles said these hazards can contribute to crime by creating opportunities for criminals.

The directive follows a viral incident of a mendicant woman exiting a street drainage in Makati City and comes alongside a police visibility campaign deploying thousands of officers for beat and mobile patrols.

Patrol reports will be consolidated by city police chiefs and forwarded to local government units for action.

In Makati, police have already sealed the drainage cover and are investigating three men seen entering the drainage through CCTV footage.
