MUNTINLUPA MAYOR SEEKS EXPLANATION FROM MAYNILAD OVER WATER SHORTAGE

Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon demanded answers from Maynilad Water Services after several villages experienced low to no water supply over the weekend.

Residents in Alabang, Bayanan, Poblacion, Putatan, and Tunasan reported service interruptions following Maynilad’s advisory of possible disruptions from Feb. 15 to early Feb. 16.

The water firm blamed strong winds over Laguna Lake that affected raw water quality and limited treatment plant output.

The shortage sparked widespread complaints, prompting the city government to deploy five tanker trucks to deliver potable water to affected areas.

Biazon said Maynilad officials have been asked to explain the incident and present measures to prevent similar disruptions.
