MRT-3 TO UNDERGO DISINFECTION FOLLOWING DOTR DIRECTIVE

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered sanitation, disinfection, and pest control for MRT-3 train sets after a viral photo showed small insects in a train car.

MRT-3 General Manager Michael Capati also instructed maintenance provider Sumitomo Corp. to explain the incident.

The management said routine sanitation and monitoring protocols are being reinforced to ensure cleanliness and passenger safety.

DOTr personnel have inspected and disinfected the affected train following the report.

The issue came to light when commuter Joy Verdal shared photos online of tiny cockroaches in a train railing, noting that she was bitten.
