The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assured that personnel manually review all violations recorded by AI-powered CCTV cameras under the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
MMDA staff will invalidate violations if they verify that drivers gave way to emergency vehicles, addressing public concerns about such cases being penalized.
Those who receive violation notices can file appeals online through the MMDA Traffic Adjudication Division.
MMDA Chair Romando Artes noted that most NCAP personnel reviewing violations are deaf-mute, and AI CCTV cameras are currently deployed only on EDSA, with other areas monitored by traditional cameras and equipment.
Since the NCAP resumed, MMDA reported 552 violations on Wednesday, following 549 on Tuesday and 1,112 on Monday.
