The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has enlisted Metro Manila mayors to ensure the effective implementation of the Rice Assistance for Indigent Families program.
The initiative aims to provide rice subsidies to over 4 million low-income families, alleviating the burden of rising costs. DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos emphasized the importance of collaboration between national agencies and local governments to streamline distribution.
Mayors were tasked with validating beneficiary lists and ensuring transparency in the process. The program is part of the government’s broader efforts to address food security and support vulnerable sectors.
