The Philippine adaptation of the global hit medical drama “The Good Doctor” has officially begun production under TV5, led by MQuest Ventures and Creazion Studios.
The series stars Iñigo Pascual as a young doctor with savant syndrome, a role he prepared for by immersing himself in real hospital settings to better understand the medical environment.
Janella Salvador also joins the cast, saying the project offers a fresh take on the medical field while incorporating Filipino perspectives and sensibilities.
Ryan Agoncillo marks his return to acting after two decades, playing a father figure to Pascual’s character and hinting at relatable real-life themes in the story.
The series aims to localize the original show’s themes of empathy, inclusivity, and overcoming differences within the context of the Philippine healthcare system.
