MAVERICKS SHUT DOWN COOPER FLAGG AFTER TWO SUMMER LEAGUE GAMES

The Dallas Mavericks have pulled top NBA Draft pick Cooper Flagg from further participation in the NBA Summer League after just two games, according to reports from ESPN and Marc Stein.

The 18-year-old forward showcased his potential by scoring 31 points in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, following a shaky debut with 10 points against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Flagg will not play in the Mavericks’ next Summer League game against Charlotte. The move appears precautionary, allowing the highly touted rookie to rest after a promising showing in Las Vegas.

Flagg gained national attention after earning consensus college player of the year honors as a freshman at Duke University.
