MARCOS LAUNCHES RICE AID DRIVE FOR 16K PUERTO PRINCESA BENEFICIARIES

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the distribution of rice assistance to 16,000 beneficiaries in Puerto Princesa City under the government’s Bawat Bayan Makikinabang initiative funded by the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

Marcos said the revamped LGSF gives local governments a bigger role in delivering aid more quickly and efficiently by streamlining approval processes.

Qualified beneficiaries, including solo parents, senior citizens, and low-income earners, receive 10 kilograms of rice every two months, with the rice sourced directly from local farmers.

The President said more than 1,200 local government units nationwide have already received assistance through the program, which also funds priority community projects.

Marcos reiterated that strengthening food security and ending hunger remain among his administration’s top priorities.
