President Marcos has ordered the extension of the filing period for hospital reimbursement claims to 120 days to address delays in PhilHealth payments.
The move, called “claims flexibility,” allows hospitals more time to submit complete documents for return-to-hospital (RTH) claims and other reimbursements.
Malacañang said the extension follows reports of over P1 billion in claims that were previously denied or delayed due to incomplete documentation.
The Department of Health has been directed to fix record-keeping issues and ensure hospitals can meet documentation requirements.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that the adjustment aims to help PhilHealth and DOH fulfill their obligations while easing the burden on hospitals.
