President Marcos has created the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Pasig River Rehabilitation (OPAPRR) through Executive Order 92 to lead efforts in restoring the historic Pasig River.
The new office, headed by a Presidential Adviser with Cabinet rank, will oversee the implementation of policies and coordinate rehabilitation programs across government agencies and the private sector.
OPAPRR will also advise the President, work with local governments, and submit bi-annual progress reports on the river’s restoration.
This initiative is part of the “Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli” project, which aims to transform the river into a vibrant commercial and tourism hub.
The order also reorganizes the Inter-Agency Council for Pasig River Urban Development, chaired by the Presidential Adviser, to ensure full rehabilitation of the riverbanks and nearby water systems.
