President Marcos is reviewing the MMDA’s proposal to shift national government office hours in Metro Manila from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to reduce traffic congestion.
Speaking in Taguig, Marcos emphasized the need for consultations with commuters and stakeholders before finalizing the plan, which could impact over 473,000 government employees.
The proposal has already shown minimal improvements in traffic flow in local government areas since its implementation last year.
Travel times decreased by 10.2%, while travel speeds improved by 20.7% near city halls, according to the MMDA.
The recommendation will be submitted to the President once approved by the 17 Metro Manila mayors.
