MARAWI SCHOOLS INTRODUCED TO DIGITAL EDUCATION RESOURCES

Bran Reluao, founder of RepublicAsia, signed a memorandum of agreement with several partners, including the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and GMA Kapuso Foundation, to launch the “Pay IT Forward” initiative in Marawi City.

The project aims to provide digital tools, internet access, and training to schools in the city, addressing the challenges of digital access in the region.

The first phase of the initiative was held in Cebu, where eight remote schools received free tablets and Starlink internet.

Reluao emphasized the importance of making digital learning a right, not a privilege, and praised the collaboration between the public and private sectors.
DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman and other stakeholders expressed their commitment to improving education through digital empowerment and thanked those involved in the initiative.
