The Malabon local government inaugurated two new pumping stations on Tuesday to reduce flooding during storms and high tides.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the event, highlighting the facilities’ role in improving flood management in Barangays Baritan and Tañong.
The new stations have a pumping capacity of 0.3 cubic meters per second, significantly higher than the older pumps.
The Sto. Rosario II Pumping Station, costing P9.99 million, will benefit about 1,000 residents in Barangay Baritan.
The Dulong Adante Pumping Station in Barangay Tañong received P16.627 million in funding and serves a larger catchment area.
