A recent survey by OCTA Research found that 85% of adult Filipinos who are aware of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are satisfied with the military forces’ overall accomplishments in the third quarter of 2023.
The survey, conducted from September 30 to October 4, found that 57% of respondents said they were “somewhat satisfied” with the AFP’s accomplishments, while 28% said they were “very satisfied.” Only 2% said they were “somewhat dissatisfied,” and 12% said they were unsure.
The AFP’s net satisfaction rating was highest in the Visayas at +93 and lowest in the National Capital Region (NCR) at +69. All adult Filipinos in the Bicol region and Zamboanga Peninsula were satisfied with the AFP’s overall accomplishments, while the lowest satisfaction ratings were found in the Ilocos Region and the NCR.
Net satisfaction with the AFP was also higher among adult Filipinos belonging to Class E socioeconomic group (+85) and those living in rural areas (+92). Adult Filipinos with no formal education or only finished elementary education also had the highest net satisfaction rating for the AFP at +91, while those with vocational education had the lowest at +53.
The survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide and has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
