The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is urging all fuel subsidy beneficiaries to update and submit their e-wallet data for the P5,000 cash assistance program for public transport drivers and operators.
The board partnered with Electronic Money Issuers like GCash and PayMaya to ensure fast, secure, and transparent distribution of the subsidies.
LTFRB Chairman Vigor D. Mendoza II said e-wallets are the most efficient way to avoid long queues at distribution sites, though beneficiaries without e-wallets can claim aid at designated venues coordinated with LGUs and the DSWD.
Preparations for the nationwide program are underway, with distribution already starting for tricycle drivers in Metro Manila.
Mendoza also instructed regional directors to strengthen coordination with local governments and the DSWD to ensure smooth implementation.
