The French Navy aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its escorts will visit the Philippines in February, highlighting the deepening maritime security ties between France and the Philippines, French Ambassador Marie Fontanel announced.
The visit aligns with the 2023 letter of intent between the two countries’ defense agencies and will facilitate joint activities with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Ahead of its visit, the Charles de Gaulle participated in the Le Perouse 2025 naval exercises, involving 13 nations and critical maritime security drills.
Over recent years, Manila and Paris have enhanced maritime cooperation, with France playing a significant role in joint exercises and deployments.
France also remains committed to supporting maritime safety, environmental protection, and regional stability under its Indo-Pacific strategy.
