State-run Land Bank of the Philippines has partnered with Visa Inc. to expand digital payment acceptance across government channels.
The collaboration will allow card payments for transit systems, government agencies, procurement systems, and the Link.BizPortal online platform.
The initiative aims to centralize digital government services, streamline collections, and reduce revenue leaks, building on a pilot automated fare system launched for MRT-3 commuters in July.
Landbank and Visa highlighted that the move supports greater financial accessibility, transaction security, and efficiency amid the rising use of digital payments in the country.
The government is targeting a 60 to 70 percent digital retail payment share by 2028.
