Filipino households will face higher cooking gas prices this month as oil companies announced an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) costs.
Solane and Petron stated that LPG prices will rise by 55 centavos per kilogram, equating to about P6 per 11-kg cylinder, effective Monday, July 1.
Petron explained that this adjustment reflects the international contract price of LPG for July. In January, retail LPG prices in Metro Manila ranged from P920 to P1,100 per tank, according to Department of Energy data.
This price hike will impact household budgets as cooking gas becomes more expensive.
