The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is prioritizing cybersecurity to rebuild trust in the Philippine digital economy and attract foreign investment.
ICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda said the country must urgently overhaul its digital infrastructure and governance to catch up with ASEAN neighbors.
The DICT’s three-pillar national digital strategy focuses on fast infrastructure deployment, driving digital adoption, and strengthening governance and cybersecurity.
The department also renewed its partnership with the UNDP to promote inclusive digitalization, co-create digital governance programs, and enhance policy frameworks.
Additionally, the Philippines and the European Union signed a €20 million Digital Economy Package to support 5G, cybersecurity, AI, and digital connectivity initiatives.
