Senator Imee Marcos reiterated her opposition to the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, saying it distracts from urgent national concerns like unemployment and rising prices.
She urged the government to prioritize the needs of the poor, farmers, PWDs, and seniors instead of political conflicts.
Senate President Francis Escudero, responding to Marcos’ remarks, acknowledged her stance but emphasized that impeachment is a constitutional duty the Senate must address.
Escudero assured the public that the process would be fair, impartial, and credible.
He stressed that regardless of the outcome, ensuring transparency and due process is the Senate’s top priority.
