Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City remains on the U.S. Trade Representative’s (USTR) 2024 Watch List for piracy and counterfeiting despite ongoing government efforts.
The USTR acknowledged the government’s actions, such as raids and a transition program to upgrade the mall and remove counterfeit sellers.
However, the complex still faces high volumes of counterfeit goods, with secret storerooms reported by rights holders.
The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines reported a significant increase in the value of seized counterfeit goods in 2024.
Greenhills aims to eliminate counterfeit sales by 2027.
