Tiger Woods announced that his recovery from back surgery in October has been slower than he hoped, and he cannot yet set a return date to competitive golf.
The 15-time major champion, who turns 50 later this month, has been gradually resuming chipping and putting but remains cautious about full practice.
Woods described his rehab as “step by step” and emphasized the need to let his disc replacement settle before increasing activity.
Despite multiple past injuries, including severe leg damage from a 2021 car crash and a ruptured Achilles tendon, he remains determined to return to the course.
While he is unsure of a 2026 tournament schedule, Woods said his main goal is simply to play golf again and rebuild his fitness.
