A digital transformation is quietly unfolding in the remote Palawan towns of Bataraza and Brooke’s Point, where 256 4Ps beneficiaries received refurbished smartphones through Globe, GCash, and the DSWD’s joint “Pre-loved Phone Donation Drive.”
The initiative, part of DSWD’s “E-Panalo ang Kinabukasan” campaign, aims to empower marginalized families with digital access to government support, online learning, and small business opportunities.
Volunteers helped set up devices, register SIMs, and create GCash accounts, while the BPI Foundation conducted financial literacy sessions.
The program spares families from long travels to access cash grants and promotes financial inclusion in isolated areas.
Globe and GCash emphasized their commitment to “Finance for All,” ensuring no one is left behind in the digital economy.
