GLOBE APPEALS TO HOAS, LGUS TO EASE NETWORK RESTORATION DELAYS

Globe Telecom has called on local government units (LGUs) and homeowners’ associations (HOAs) to ease restrictions that are delaying connectivity restoration and network upgrades, especially in gated communities.

The company cited issues such as high access fees, excessive permit requirements, and outright prohibitions on fiber expansion as major obstacles.

In some cases, Globe reported villages demanding up to ₱100,000 in access fees with unclear terms, or daily charges of ₱5,000.

Globe stressed that timely access is crucial to prevent service disruptions and cited government policy stating that consent is not needed for cable-laying on existing infrastructure.

While respecting community security measures, Globe urged cooperation to ensure reliable mobile and broadband services.
